CO₂ Pipeline Diameter Sizing
Iterates standard NPS sizes (6"–48") and returns the smallest pipe meeting both the user's pressure-drop budget and DNV-RP-J202 erosion-velocity limit. Uses the same PR-Peneloux + FVW + Colebrook engine as calc A1.

Engineering Basis

  • Iterates over standard NPS 6"–48" line pipe.
  • For each candidate ID: PR-Peneloux density, Fenghour-Vesovic-Wakeham viscosity, Colebrook friction, Darcy-Weisbach pressure drop integrated over N segments.
  • Selects the smallest size meeting both ΔP ≤ available pressure budget AND v_max ≤ DNV-RP-J202 erosion limit (default 4 m/s).
  • Standard IDs assume STD wall — for actual pipe spec, run calc A2 (wall thickness) on the selected NPS.
  • Standards: ASME B31.4 · ISO 27913:2016 · DNV-RP-J202 (2017).
