Important Notes

  • Ideal Gas Law assumes no intermolecular forces and negligible molecular volume
  • Best accuracy at low pressures (< 100 psia) and high temperatures
  • For real gases, use compressibility factor (Z) correction: PV = ZnRT
  • Temperature must be in absolute units (°R = °F + 459.67)
  • Pressure must be absolute (psia = psig + 14.7)
